Night out on the town

We decided to go out on the town of Tbeng Meanchey - which is the capital of the province Preah Vihear, but the locals also call this town Preah Vihear, so it can be kind of confusing. It would take a lot to get lost here because it is so small. Bob said that he has heard it estimated that between 20,000-30,000 people live here. There are 2 main roads that run parallel to each other, and that is about it.

We went to a restaurant that Bob had been to before. He said that they had really good deer meat there, so that is what we were going to have for dinner. When we got there we asked for a menu, but they don't have one. So, we just asked for a few different dishes - unfortunately they were out of deer and chicken. They did have beef and wild pig from the forest. So, we ordered two dishes - one beef and one wild pig. The wild pig dish came first, and as I was looking at it I realized that I didn't really want to eat it. There was more pig skin than meat, and along with the pig skin came...hair. It was a nice dinner of rice with some meat, but mainly rice.

Wow. Raw pork skins. Better than deep fried cat though, right?
